Your giving him just the reaction he wants. They didn't "ask" to be "helped" either, they were accused of having weapons they didn't have as an excuse for Bush to invade. This never was about "helping" anybody until it became obvious that the original reason (WMDS) was bullshit, so they needed another reason to continue.
