Truman, August 9, 1945 Sounds an awful lot like the same sort of religious rhetoric that many people here are fond of criticizing from the Muslims. Slaughtering an innocent civilian population of hundreds of thousands and continuing to mutate and murder their children and grandchildren with cancer and disease for generations to come is not a justifiable action, however many soldiers' lives it may 'save.' And then claiming that the whole thing was God's purpose and idea? The bloody hubris... I suspect this is more what he meant by saying 'no reason'. Not that the attack was unprovoked. But that no level of provocation could ever possibly justify such barbaric horror on a wide scale. |

That's just a ticking Time-Bomb over there. Both countries hate each other (and have for some time), they ARE Neighboring, and Yes BOTH have Nuclear Weapon Stockpiles.  |
