Re: Old Man Dead From a Gastrointestinal Bleed
To answer a previous question, the house smelled like kitty litter but it wasn't too bad. The shit had pretty much dried. Honestly, it depends on the circumstances. Speaking generally, of course we would have respect for you. No one begrudges elderly patients or patients with legitimate complaints, such as seizures. So if you're worried, for example, that they would make fun of your naked body, I would say probably not. However, we admittedly do not have a lot of love for drug and alcohol overdoses. My area has a lot of heroin problems and I've run multiple heroin overdoses. One in particular happened where I actually responded separately and was first on scene, and I walked in the tiny bathroom to find the guy in respiratory arrest with his pants around his ankles. He'd been shooting up on the toilet and he OD'd on heroin. The first backup arrived and we got him into the hallway where he arrested fully. I started compressions as the cavalry came up the stairs. Once the medic hit him with Narcan he came back around. But the whole time his very, very small penis is just chilling there. After he was stable again and the Medic was getting an IV, I finally said, "Ok, I can't take it anymore" and I grabbed a towel and threw it over his dick. Everyone laughed. Which was kind of morbid because he had literally just died and his mother was downstairs screaming her head off. Nature of the business. But, on a similar call, where an 80 year old man was in respiratory arrest on the toilet, and he went into cardiac arrest shortly after, believe me, no one was making fun of him. We worked our asses off to save that particular gentleman, and we actually did get him back briefly, but sadly we lost the fight in the back of the ambulance. So, bottom line, I'm sure that when they found you, if it wasn't because of drugs or alcohol, no one made fun of you. Listen, I fucking love my job. I definitely wouldn't want to jeopardize it by posting this kind of thing. However, I also know how very difficult it is to get death pics from westernized countries and this place is called Documenting Reality for a reason. I don't find posting this to be disrespectful at all, I think it's a learning experience, and you guys are empathetic and respectful as well (as opposed to the shitstains at bestgore). I honestly wish I could've gotten you pics of the most interesting expiration I've had but the guy's mother refused to leave the body. He had collapsed in the hallway, face planted straight into the carpet, hands underneath him, and he'd fallen into a bunch of random stacked stuff. It was a mess. And it was cool. |

Re: Old Man Dead From a Gastrointestinal Bleed
Hope this isn't an insensitive request, but it would actually great if you were to post more personal EMT pics on here. Do you have a stash, or something? A collection of photos, an album? Can you post some from the next crime/death scene if possible?

Ditto. This should be noted for future reference in case any EMTs from first-world countries feel like posting pics on sites like these. We value privacy, countries like the US & the UK. The least you could do is put a tape over the eyes and leave the rest in plain view. |

Re: Old Man Dead From a Gastrointestinal Bleed
Excellent post. Im a lurker myself, not having an occupation where I come into contact with interesting content I could share with the group. I really would be interested to hear how the more frequent posters find their original content if anyone would care to share. I would also like to thank everyone who does post. Much appreciated. |

Re: Old Man Dead From a Gastrointestinal Bleed
I work emergency services as well, I don't often get an opportunity to get any pics and I'd be too afraid to post them anyway, as much as I'd like too!
