i have pits, i have retrievers, i have huskies and and i have dobbies. but rotties scares me. thats not a case of mauling. thats a case of starvation and irritation. the victim was consumed not just mauled. happened often when the owner is too scared to go near the dog to feed it, often mistakes the hunger growling as aggression and punishes the dog. very seldom that a dog will attack a hand that feeds it and pets it. |

a dog bark usually sound the same whether its happy, playful, angry or protective. the owner should learn the dogs body language to know why the dog is barking so the owner can respond accordingly. one thing i learned about the pits and bulldogs though. when its currently feeding, never touch or grab their food or bowl suddenly. their instinct compels them to snap at the hand |

Got my wires crossed, i am thinking of the housekeeper who was mauled to death by the siberian huskies who were not fed by the owner .. The Rotty looks healthy in the head photo, look at its back end sitting on the floor, it has had more than a bite out that arm  |

Yes i agree...By the looks of the poor woman, she could not feed her self, and the rottys back end in the floor photo, looks a little ragged.. |

At that age maybe she wasn't the leader of the pack anymore and the dog tried to take over. The owner should always be the, strong, leader/boss of a dog(s). I've seen this personally with a Dobermann that attacked his owner after he got sick and older and didn't show dominance anymore over the dog. It's weird they don't mention in articles the dog is awaiting to be put to death. Actually they say when the dog acts normal in those 10 days custody it will probably get a new home or becomes a guard dog for businesses  |
