Re: OK, Try This Again, My Brother Od'd from Bad Heroin
You also have to take the constant theft and lying that comes with it. My cousin admittedly that loved and was very close to for a long time stole from everyone and I mean everyone in the family she would lie about stupid shit it was constant when I finally turned my back on her I had found out that the house she had been living in belonged to some woman who works as a traveling nurse and had no idea her house had been broken into until she came home after three months my cousin called me from jail to bail her out and I had just had enough it was just to much she had convinced us all she was working and paying rent and was completely clean when I saw to what depths she had gone to, to get away with staying high that did for me I had just gotten back from Africa and got a call at the airport she OD’d and I admit it was a complete relief and at the same time I am still full of guilt and I hold her in contempt for that.... my heart says “ how dare she still impact my feelings after she waisted her life. She was super popular absolutely stunning to look at and was a great student she could have been anything she chose to be a fuckn dope head

Re: OK, Try This Again, My Brother Od'd from Bad Heroin
I live in Vancouver, BC. The heart of the opioid crisis in Canada. Here, it's a fentanyl crisis. There is no such thing as heroin on the street anymore, it's just fentanyl. I know first hand, I'm an addict. I have 10 months clean, and I got out just in the nick of time. 3 weeks later, a good friend died. His girlfriend died this summer too. So did my ex, the love of my life. We parted ways to get clean, planning to get back together later (We just couldn't get clean together). People are dying here every single day, it's insane. I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother. I know your pain and heartbreak. Msg me if you ever need to talk.

Re: OK, Try This Again, My Brother Od'd from Bad Heroin
I just read some more of the comments and I'm mildly surprised at the level of anger towards addicts I'm reading. You people do know that addictionis usually the result of trauma, right? Or no? Just saying, nobody decides to be an addict. It usually happens when ppl in pain self medicate. Understanding the cause of addiction and having some compassion go a long way.

I agree and appreciate your sentiments. Still, I do understand the frustration and anger of someone who has been used by an addict who is a family member. There are no winners in these situations.

bad in Florida too, usually heroin with fentanyl or carfentanil in it, i recently did CPR on a guy who had overdosed while his 6 year old son slept next to us on a couch, his son had to wake up and see his dad dead on the floor before he was carried away
