Off-Duty Memphis Officer Jeremy Kyle Shot Dead Breaking Into Ex's Home, 2007
Off-duty Memphis police officer Jeremy Kyle, 27, was shot dead on the morning of June 3, 2007, after kicking in the back door of his ex-girlfriend's home on Breezy Gate Drive near Cordova, in unincorporated Shelby County, Tennessee. Kyle, armed with a personal handgun, pointed it at his ex-girlfriend, fellow Memphis officer Teresita Watson, 27, and the man who was with her, Justin Davis, 22. In a struggle over the gun Davis fired three shots, killing Kyle in the hallway; one shot grazed Watson in the stomach, and she was treated and released. Investigators concluded Kyle never fired his weapon. Watson's three children were upstairs and unharmed. Deputies had been called to the house twice before over the couple's disputes. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office referred the case to the district attorney; contemporaneous reporting said charges against Davis were considered unlikely, and none were reported.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

Before you post judgement read the story. Two off duty cops got into a fight this is the end result. So I say take guns from the cops.
