What if he goes to confession and says his penance? Won't he be forgiven? He could end up in heaven. What if she had unforgiven sins on her soul? Won't she be in hell forever? It seems unfair, but that seems to be the way it's supposed to work.

Did they poke her eyes out? I imagine in that state of decomposition, her eyes would still be there in the sockets. Shriveled but still there.
