She had died from her head being repeatedly hit with bricks. Amanda had just attended a party held on a farm near the crime scene. Amanda's ex-boyfriend, 22 year old Lourenço da Rocha Neto* was originally a suspect but he was eventually ruled out. Relatives of Amanda had phoned Lourenço on the morning of the murder. They wanted to know where Amanda was, but Lourenço stated that she had broken up with him + was now dating someone else.
