Underage smoking, drinking, doing drugs is illegal.. but kids still do it.. Do you still ask, how could this happen?

Our city runs programs where you can turn in guns and get a gift card for groceries for at least $100, no questions asked. With the economy being so bad, some people do go for it.

one day is quick, but then again, i dont have a criminal record. if you have nasty criminal record, they will look into it more deeply. so, if you have a bad record, you will not be eligible to buy a firearm. especially if you have domestic violence, assault, or felony charges.

Folks, the idea or concept is not so hard to work out. It's about reducing deviant or reckless behavior. It doesn't mean the possibility of a gun-related murder is zero percent but such acts can be reduced. Case in point - compare Chicago (with the population the same size as Brooklyn) to NYC and the number of gun-related fatalities each city has.

I'm for having guns but if I could somehow make ALL of them disappear I would.

Take a look at what happened in Australia.. they got their guns taken away and robberies/home invasions increased nearly 50%!!! The right to bear arms is for the people to protect themselves from their enemies, foreign and domestic. You can ban guns all you want, but you are really hurting the people. The criminals will still have them.. and not only will you have the criminals to worry about but your federal government as well.

These shootings are happening because the government needs to get the guns out of the American people's hands.
