I assumed it was lighting issues affecting the shades. Pattern on the shirt is inconclusive, but that sheet is opaque enough that it could be the same, though I wouldn't stake any personal savings on it. Both are obviously checkered-pattern shirts with red as a primary component. I don't see as much blue in the second one, but the sheet and resolution may be responsible for that.

The second photo was posted on multiple different, independent media websites, as was the first (though the first was more widespread). The first is absolutely, unequivocally her, as the police report matches the clothing exactly. The second one has a few minor inconsistencies with the clothing, either of which could be credited to camera effects. Additionally, I had to resize and resample both images fairly significantly, because the two source images were considerably smaller. This process can have a varying range of effects on color and texture detail.

In any event, you may be correct. I acknowledge that there are minor inconsistencies, but the photo passed my personal smell test (appearing on multiple, credible,individual sites with separate file names) for posting so I posted it. Further, the image is not a re-used image from another crime, as I was unable to find an alternate story cite for it with multiple search engines. It is either an image from this crime, as stated by the source, or an image from another identical crime that has never had a photo story published in any Mexican media.

I'll stand by it for now and keep the image up, as my source is moderately credible and the possible inconsistencies could quite reasonably be explained as anomalies in the photography. But it is always a good course to keep an open mind. If someone finds a conclusive link to a different incident involving the second photo or if they find more images of this incident that may discredit it, I'll have it removed.
