Re: Nancy Spungeon
There's a bizarre history associated with Nancy Spungeon. When she was born, her brain was deprived briefly of oxygen, to the point where it might have caused some mind neurological damage although the effects of which probably wasn't so physical as it was mental and emotional. When Spungeon was only five or six years of age, she told her mother she was going to beat her to death with a hammer! As she grew older, she became more depressed and temperamental. For no apparent reason, she would go into violent outbursts. Her actions put her family under a great deal of stress. In the end, Nancy Spungeon's mother believes Sid Vicious was merely acting on her daughter's request when he allegedly murdered her. As Spungeon's mother explained in the book, And I don't Want to Live This Life, her daughter, aside from suffering a life-long bout with severe emotional issues, was depressed to the point of suicidal.
