This may be outside the purview of this post string, but would you be so kind as to post another photo of your mother in better, healthier times? It sure helps me in seeing the ravages of self-medicating . Thanks in advance - and if you’re not interested in providing a “before” of old mom, thank you for sharing what you've shared already

What's so messed up is I don't have any pictures of her from before she got like that. I would have to go to my step-dad's and get actual pictures because camera phones weren't around before she got this way.

I am so sorry for the loss that has come way before her death. Having alcoholics for parents, at some point in life, you mourn the parent you should have had... If that makes any sense. If ever you need to talk, I'm here.

My dad died alone in a motel room in late may from septic shock due to a colostomy bag. He was a daily drinker, most of the time on drugs too. I tried my whole life to get him help, even as a kid. Honestly more of a relief when he died. It’s a weird kind of grief. He was abusive to all of my family, so we abandoned him five years ago, finally. So don’t feel bad, I would have totally shared photos if I still lived in the same state lol. Miserable bastard he was.

She clearly didn't have a close loving relationship with her mother (+ myself being very anti-alcohol, can completely understand). If this helps her to come to terms with the death, then who are we to say that it's wrong?

However, as I stated earlier, she really should have watermarked the photo as other sites will take it + claim as their own findings, despite this one being a very personal 'exclusive'.

Also, taking away any relation to the deceased, posting the image isn't really any different than the thousands of photos we already have on the site - to all but 1 person here, it's just another dead person.

I also have pics of my (terminally ill) dead mom, but watermarking them like a pledge would be worse than retards spreading the pics

That said, i wouldn't want to post anywhere, but if OP felt the need, then so be it
