Those are all through the lower abdomen. Injuries there sometimes pinch off the artery and if the diaphragm and necessary organs are still there, it's survivable in some cases or not immediately fatal.

Look at the picture of the this guy where you can see his bottom half - he's ripped apart half way up his back, not through his abdomen.

You also wouldn't be able to breathe because you'd have no diaphragm to operate your lungs. lol.

Seem to remember a video where young Indian bloke was cut in half and was still quite chatty for a few minutes. Not very instant, that.
