Unfortunately schizophrenia generally shows up in late teens- early adult and the medicated are usually fine but don't like to take the medication. Bipolar patients don't like to take their medication either so we have a system that medicates but doesn't monitor patients or the level of medication and a whole town of potential victims...Someday we'll understand prison and burials are a lot more expensive than prudent mental health practices.
