far out, i find it so inconceivable that people would dress up and even pose next to a dead body! Also makes me wonder just how fresh are these corpses.

No one is dead in that picture. While there are standing memento mori, it's rare. Those stands you see in some of those standing pictures are for people to rest on and stay still because it took a while for the camera to take a picture. It doesn't mean they used it in the picture to keep a corpse up. In fact, a corpse would be very hard to keep up with just a stand. A lot of these are just regular pictures and not of dead people.
