Man Wrapped in Plastic and Tape - Autoerotic Death

Spokane, WA, USA. The victim had been diagnosed with mild schizophrenia. He had failed to show up for work, and when friends went to his residence to check on him, they found him dead under bizarre circumstances and notified the police. The man was completely wrapped in Reynolds Wrap plastic with duct tape over his entire head.

Detectives found several other plastic suits of Reynolds Wrap and duct tape that the victim had made on previous occasions and that he had cut off himself. It was hypothesized that the victim, who had wrapped himself in plastic, had his duct tape mask on and inadvertently knocked his scissors to the floor and could not find them prior to becoming unconscious.

At the time of the case, detectives had developed the photos from a camera found in the scene. These pictures showed the victim taking photos of himself as he took steps to wrap himself. Several of the existing photos depicted wrapping with AceTM bandages. Detectives speculated that the victim started with the Ace bandages and progressed to the Reynolds Wrap and duck tape.
