I have another example of REAL WOMEN making a decision for themselves.

A local radio station has a segment during college spring break season (over about a month depending on the college and location) where they call students on spring break and ask them for a report of how things are going, and if they would like to be a "reporter" for the radio station, with the station asking them if anything unusual happened to them. What the students don't know is that the station will call, with the student's PARENTS on the line, just listening, and wanting to find out what their "precious princess child" has been up to.
Usually it's pretty tame stuff, with occasional hookups, drunken escapades, etc. The usual spring break stuff that even the parents who are listening did when THEY were on spring break years ago. No big deal.

But occasionally, they hit the jackpot, such as when a girl tells about her wild time hooking up with 5 guys in one night, or doing ALL the members of a college team at some beach party, or something a little unusual.

The BEST one I ever heard was when a father from California wanted them to "Spring Break Bust" his daughters, who had gone to Florida together for spring break, and he hadn't heard anything from them for a week, and was getting concerned. He wanted to find out what they had been up to.

So they call the girls contact number, and get them on the line, and ask them how spring break is going for them, and the girl talking said they had met some guy at a yacht club during a party, and he had offered them each $10,000 if they would be the "crew" on a one week charter trip on his huge, beautiful yacht, with the boat owner and 10 of his friends as the guests. They accepted, went on the trip, and basically serviced all the guys on board as they wanted, whenever they wanted, for that entire week. They had a wonderful time, saw a lot of places in the Caribbean, had wonderful dinners every night, went shopping with their generous crew-mates picking up all the expenses, and buying them all kinds of trinkets, clothes and virtually anything they wanted while they cruised from port to port. They went snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and had a great time. They hadn't been in contact with their families because most of the time they were outside of cell phone coverage. The yacht owner had his own boat captain, chef, and bartender along, plus a guy to attend to the engines and any maintenance problems.

The father was IRATE, to say the least, and broke in, revealed he had been listening to their entire story and questioned them closely on what had gone on, and it was apparent the girls were basically just rental girls for the week.

He asked them how much money they had left, and they said the guy had just deposited $10,000 in each of their bank accounts that morning. They hadn't had to spend a dime while on the cruise, as the guys with them covered all their expenses and everything they asked for. They said it was hard to carry money in a bikini, and the guys had plenty of money and were happy to spoil their "little kittens."

The father bawled them out, and asked when they were coming home to California to get back to school, and the girls basically told him that they had thought about it, and decided NOT to come back to California, and were going to stay in Florida, and had a bunch of other charter trips already lined up, had rented a beachfront condo for a really cheap price from one of the guys who had been on their first trip, and was in real estate, and happened to have a nice place he let them lease at half-price from what the local market was demanding, because he enjoyed them being around so much. The girls said they were actually going to recruit other "girl crew members" for some of the planned cruises, and were looking for models who looked good, and were either good cooks or knew bartending, so they could make drinks, and were seriously considering starting up a boat staffing business, with hostesses picking out the trip postings they wanted to accompany, and they would take 25% of the fee, and the girls would get the rest as their pay. They had thought up the business plan while on the trip.

The father informed the daughters that he was going to be telling his wife what had gone on, and they would be calling and speaking to them again later that day.

The radio host thanked them all, told the father "Well, I'm glad you found out what you needed to know. I'm sorry it wasn't better news, though. Good luck with your daughters in the future!" and the call ended.

But at least they didn't yammer about being "tricked" or "fooled" or anything like that. They got a proposal, they were happy with the proposal, and had no problems with it. And thought up a business plan, to boot!

(For those wondering, the show is the "John-Jay and Rich Show", which started in Tucson, and now is nationwide carried on affiliates and on Iheart Radio. Originally the "Spring Break Bust" segments dealt with students at the U of A in Tucson, and ASU in Phoenix, and were actually pretty tame, but occasional good (Or funny) stories, but when they expanded into California, the Spring Break Busts started to get really good, and stories like the one I just related, showed up on the air. This story was on about 5 years ago, before Covid popped up.)

Oh, another point. The age of sexual consent for girls is 13 in France, and 13 in Japan. I don't know what it is in Thailand, but I know girls start pretty early there as well, but I think they just disregard the laws there if the girls are not complaining about being abused.

I understand Simone's concern about children being raped, but you have to separate out that girls of 16/17 are perfectly capable of selecting partners as they wish. As long as they aren't being coerced or forced, it's no one's business but theirs.

At my high school, if they had prosecuted all the 18 year olds dating 17 year olds and having sex, or even the 16 year olds dating 15 year olds and having sex, (Or even the 20 year old guys dating high school girls of 18) they would have lost a quarter of the county's population.
