Long time lurker who discovered the origin of this pic. It's a man named Hisashi Ouchi who was was wounded (yes, that's quite an understatement) in the Tokaimura nuclear accident. They tried grafting skin that had been donated by his brother and he survived for an astonishing 83 days. Here's another pic:  |

For the love of god!!!!! I burned my toes last week, dropped some welding slag through the hole in my Crocs and it jammed between two toes. I have two burns the size of cigarette burns, between adjacant toes, and I have been in misery all week. FUCK, they hurt, they throb, they sting, my toes throb at night, I can't walk normally. I have the dressing changed several times a day. I feel like a pussy with these two tiny wounds! How in the name of all that is holy does one survive more than a minute when half your fuckin' body has been burned off?????  |
