Man Executed at Altar
No, not a wedding, but still. A man was shot dead inside a Catholic church in the Barroso neighborhood of Fortaleza at about 5:50 pm on Sunday (1st) - a day on which the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated in Catholicism. The murder was confirmed by the Chief of Police of the Capital (CPC), Major Carlos Paulino. The victim, identified as Francisco Fábio dos Santos, 40 years old, was a drug user and had been suffering death threats. Francisco Fábio was persecuted before being assassinated. Three men arrived at the victim's residence, next to the church, on 5th Street, in the John Paul II Ensemble, and asked for him. A relative warned the man to run and he tried to flee to the church. The Military Police went to the homicide site and isolated the area, for the arrival of the Forensic Expertise of Ceará (Pefoce) and the Division of Homicide and Protection to the Person (DHPP) of the Civil Police, to begin the investigation of the murder . According to the Military Police, Francisco Fábio left the prison about 2 months after 10 years imprisoned. He has responded to at least six criminal cases. After gaining his freedom, Fábio would be committing robberies in the area where he frequently lived, according to police information. |
