Wrong. The ribs have clearly been gnawed-on. Look again... it appears exactly like every deer carcass i've found that's been fed upon by dogs or coyotes. Like others have said... very interesting that they didn't chew up the face. It DOES look as if it's been licked(notice the dried-on dirt and lip pushed up like his face was being licked from time to time as rigor-mortis set in...? My dog licks my face when she wants to wake me up. Maybe his dogs were trying to do the same thing for the first day or so... |

Check your anatomy books. They chewed the hell out of the ribs. Even the sternum is completely gone. And it looks like a couple floating ribs are missing but I can't be sure on that without counting. Canines love chewing off the front of the rib cage. I don't know why but perhaps it is because that part of the ribs is a bit softer than the back ribs and has more red bone in the center.
