I don't think opening the windows really helps in this case..I cleaned up a freezer once with meat that had UN-thawed for 5 weeks..It was the most horrible smell with larvae thrown in on top of things and it had liquefied .The freezer was junk and my nose out of commission for a week...really puts you off the food

I'm a florist..did funeral flowers for a lady who died from a heart attack while in her a hot tub...no one found her for 16 days...her flesh was gone from the bones..
.they mostly buried liquid....
