Liza Petsylya and Nastya Korolyova: Lobnya Schoolgirl Suicides, 2012
Both aged 14, Elizaveta Petsylya and Anastasia Korolyova were close friends and classmates living in the same Lobnya apartment building. Lobnya is in Moscow Oblast, about 30 kilometres north of Moscow. On Tuesday evening, February 7, 2012, they jumped hand in hand from the roof of a residential tower on Chaikovsky Street and both died. Notes of farewell were in their pockets, while parcels left for their parents contained messages asking forgiveness. Investigators said the girls had been absent from school for about two weeks and may have been afraid of the consequences once this was discovered, although this remained a working version rather than a finding. Their deaths prompted widespread Russian media coverage of teenage suicide during the spring of 2012. |

you'd think that the snow, and their thick clothing would help protect from the fall...i guess not. they must have jumped pretty high. shame the girls were young with a bright future no doubt
