Re: Lineman with Electrically Cooked Legs
At least you did some Here we don't have the same "jock"/school sports culture (if you really do have it ; it's maybe just a stereotype). Sport IS a big thing for many at school, all the way to college but it is more something to "vent off" the hardships of student life ; there is not a subculture based on it, with school teams and all that shit. One can choose to pursue a sports career while studying, but it's an agreement between the student, the school and whatever federation the student depends on. In college there is a sports cursus (STAPS) but, then again, universities don't have teams or, if they do, it's not that big of a thing and there certainly aren't official college team competitions, etc. I must admit I was never the sport guy, although I kind of regret it today. As I said, it is often (stereotypically) used in school to get points for the average grade for those who have trouble with education as it is practiced, and/or to calm "disruptive" students. I never needed extra points and even could generally afford to lose a few so I just did nothing in sports |

There is some of that "jock" culture. It depends on what high school/college you attend. I was basically a "nerd" who happened to do a little in track and field in high school.
