At around 11pm on 28th February 2015. a couple were found dead in their home in ​​Pedro Gomes.

Relatives hadn't heard from the couple, so they called a neighbour to check on them. Haroldo da Silva Santos, who is friends with the couple went to the house with his daughter. The house was quiet but with a light on. Haroldo accessed the house from an open bedroom window + found the couple dead on the settee.

36 year old Rosenilda Rodrigues Batista + her husband, 40 year old Donizete dos Santos, had been shot dead. It is thought that Donizete shot Rosenilda twice before taking his own life.

Neighbours have said that the couple often rowed.

A bottle of rum + a .38 caliber revolver with 2 bullets intact were found by Donizete's feet. It's thought that they had been dead for 24 hours by the time they were found.
