New Zealand Woman, 24, Drowns Off the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand
On January 3, 2018, a 24 year old Kiwi woman, was found floating off the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand. Her family released a statement through police. “Our world was shattered when we were advised of the tragic death of our precious and beloved daughter, who was holidaying in Thailand.” "We still do not know the full details around her passing." A spokesman of the local police said the woman was on the Phi Phi Islands with a tour group, but refused to return with them. "She remained on Phi Phi by herself and is believed to have drowned while swimming on Wednesday morning. However, details are still under investigation," he said. He said the woman was found floating in a Bay by a Burmese worker on a boat, who notified police. The spokesman said a hospital examination revealed no signs of violence and the doctor ruled the cause of death as drowning. It was believed the woman had been dead for about 6 hours before she was found. "She was identified because the tour group contacted police after receiving news reports that the body of a foreign woman had been found. They then confirmed her identity through her tattoos," said the spokesman. The victim was a regular force member of the New Zealand Army and worked as a medic in the Medical Corps. "She had this vibrant and quirky personality that made a lasting impression on the ones she met,” said a close friend. "A favourite memory is when I offered her to have one marshmallow from my bag of fist-sized marshmallows. I come back 10 minutes later and she has placed the whole bag in the oven to roast. "The oven is smoking and the whole lot is burnt to charcoal.” "She was very intelligent but always doing blonde things like this." "She will be greatly missed." |

She looks like she’s been alive much more recent than 6 hours. How long does it usually take for them to start stinking? Usually it looks like once they stop looking lifelike they start to smell |

Re: New Zealand Woman, 24, Drowns Off the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand
*Dons deerstalker* It's the guy from Burma. It's always the guy from Burma. Sexual violence is seemingly an endemic component of Bamar society, and many enterprising young men from the Irrawaddy basin have raped and murdered 2 or 3 women by age 30. I am pretty sure I'm not joking (sometimes I can't remember my own intentions and just wing it). Regardless, I believe their culture suffered tremendous blows during the 100+ years they were ruled by the Raj. If you've read Burmese Days, remember Orwell admitted that most of the book was actually a nonfiction journalistic endeavor masquerading as a novel in an attempt to allay accusations of libel, i.e., British colonists there wee cynical, depraved monsters who, out of boredom, undermined any chance the country had to be on par with Malaysia. And, like in many other erstwhile possessions of the French and British prove, creating a cultural vacuum leads to whole generations of nihilistic mooncalfs. So, in a way the Biritish did it. She was from New Zealand, which is pretty much a vastly improved iteration of Wales. So what we have here is a suicide. She decided to drown herself and didn't want to be found, so she sent her tour group away and then slipped quietly under the water. Open and shut case, fellas. This girl offed herself. |
