Surely it cannot be that high! There's 7 billion people alive right now so if 1 in 1.9 million will be struck with lightning per year then approximately 3,684 people will be hit with lighting around the world each year, or 10 people a day. Are you sure it's this high? |

Given how big is the world, 10 people a day seems likely. That said, getting hit by lightning while moving, on a crowded street lined with tall trees? Huh... seems fishy.
