Re: Kevin Carter ... Pulitzer Prize Pic

But if the Silva version is correct. The childs mother left her there, while she went to get food. The photographer chased the vulture off. So he did do a good thing. Also we can't tell by the pic, exactly what is around her. She may not have been as alone and isolated at the pic makes you think. That aside, I think I would have taken the pic, picked up the child and taken her some where safer from birds ect.
No, the photographer left the scene right after taking the picture, no-one knows what happened to the kid. The photographer topped himself 3 months later.

Re: Kevin Carter ... Pulitzer Prize Pic

This is probably the only thing I've seen on this site that bothers me. Other than some pictures of some of the members here. . .

Re: Kevin Carter ... Pulitzer Prize Pic

photographers and other documentarians to "not get involved" = retarded. In this situation the not get involve stuff is not applicable. Its your will as a human not a photographer to help that poor child. You got the shot, you have the picture now your work is done as a photographer now your human side's next, help. Damn, why won't some people use common sense? Are all people Homer Simpson now?
Agreed, one million percent

Re: Kevin Carter ... Pulitzer Prize Pic

i could never walk away from a child in that condition
you would have had to drag me away
there was probably no one to drag him away, and that's what he was scared of, not making it back, if not then fuck knows why he didnt help her, maybe he was just a heartless cunt

Re: Kevin Carter ... Pulitzer Prize Pic

You see it so often now, people dying, getting beat up, etc but nobody coming to their aid. The me generation is intact, as humans only worry about "me" and not the other guy.

Kinda sad!
