José Maia dos Anjos Killed by Band Saw in Mato Grosso, August 19, 2011
José Maia dos Anjos, 43, was killed at a sawmill in the Paranorte district of Mato Grosso, Brazil, on August 19, 2011. He was cleaning in front of a running vertical band saw when he slipped and grabbed the control lever that advanced a log on the carriage. The log pushed him against the blade, cutting him across the chest. The saw continued running until other workers cut power to the mill. Anjos was married and had three children.  ·  ·  ·  · |
