Jacob Tuan Killed by Crocodile While Fishing Near Kuching, Sarawak, 2025
A crocodile killed Jacob Tuan, 32, as he fished from a riverbank off Jalan Matang-Kampung Paroh, in the Matang area near Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, on the night of June 27, 2025. His disappearance was reported at about 10:30 pm. The Petra Jaya fire and rescue station conducted a search, locating his body at about 12:30 pm the next day, roughly 300 meters from the location where the crocodile had taken him. Multiple wounds on his body were consistent with a crocodile attack, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The remains were transferred to Sarawak General Hospital, while the case was classified as a sudden death report. The Sarawak Forestry Corporation launched a hunt for the crocodile days later.     |
