Re: Inspecting The Brain - Meningitis

My 7yr. old son died of this exact strain of Menigitis 13 year's ago on April 7th, 1999. This time of the year is the HARDEST for me to stay sane and get through each and every anniversary date. They say that time heal's all wound's, but I find that to be bullshit! you have just had longer to cope with the "New Normal" your life has to become.
I lost my son Aug 04, 1977 and you are so right, the wound NEVER heals. I was just listening to my IPod and started crying because of a Harry Chapin song I use to listen to when my son was alive. You do stop bleeding but you never really heal. My heart goes out to you.

As for that brain, my ex-husband barely escaped with his life when he was 4 or 5. Looks nasty.....
I am very sorry for both of you.

Re: Inspecting The Brain - Meningitis

As the father of a 2 yo son and a 10 mo son, I cannot comprehend the emptiness and loss I would feel if something were to happen to them. My condolences on your losses . . .

Lady, I am truly sorry to hear of your loss also. Today make's 13 year's to the day that I lost T.J. and I try to make it as positive as I can for my husband and I too cope with. We make his favorite dinner and try to not cry too much, but you know what I am talking about. My heart is with you, Peace friend

Re: Inspecting The Brain - Meningitis

first story, i remember in middle school, all the football assholes giving me tons of shit for being a weird nerdy gross looking metal head, well a few years later in high school it was well known that many of these guys were notorious homosexuals, and well over half of the team in 10th grade got spinal meningitis. while the entire team was quarantined in hospitals, nobody died, but i always smiled when i saw them after, now that im an adult i see them, fat and unkempt, now im the clean cut shit talking athlete, but i only stick my willy in girls booty holes

story #2, around 2000 there was a girl who was a year or two older than me who lived in the next town over. i knew several people who knew her who told me the story, as it made national news and the full story was never told, and i believe they said she got it at a party from kissing? but i can't remember. well it turns out that she was a meth head and smoked with some people who had this disease, turns out lots or meth heads had it then and it went all over houston and was on the news quite a bit as i remember. the girl ended up with both her arms and both her legs having to be removed. there were many many fund raisers around all the local towns for her, but nobody knew it was from smoking meth. thankfully i was told her friends stayed with her and a guy took her to prom, but personally, i would rather die.

truly an insane fucked up disease, every time an outbreak happened as a kid i remember having to be rushed to the doctor, along with my sister and neighbors, it just kills so fucking fast its insane, the grammar nazi's may destroy me now

My husband and I are asked to speak to school's when there is an outbreak and 3 yrs. ago the football team in the town over,7 boy's turned up positive and 1 died. He got it from his girlfriend that went to A totally different school, but I am not sure how it was spread. There are many different causes as 1 in 3 people carry the bacteria in their sinuses at any one given time. We all carry it sooner or later, but we gain an immunity to it. It is when your immune system is compromised where the bacteria wreak havok. There is also Aless deadly viral meningitis.
