Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Dieter Spoerry's Porsche 908 collided with Jack Brabham's Matra 650 during practice for Le Mans 1970, the Porsche cartwheeling over the barrier landing in a ditch and breaking in two. Amazingly Dieter walked away, barefooted, as his racing boots had been ripped from his feet. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
British driver Richard Robarts drove four GPs for Brabham in 1974 but after losing his drive raced an F2 March in 1976. This is what remains of it after a huge crash at the Vallelunga in Italy.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Sportcar driver Richard Piper was filming some racing scenes for Steve McQueen's 1970 Le Mans film. The Porsche 917 blew a tyre at Arnage, the car broke into two and landed in a ditch with Richard trapped in the wreckage. Richard lost his lower leg in the crash and if I remember rightly the leg was apputated at the scene. Piper continued a successful career after this terrible accident. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
I know that for a guy who hates Nascar, I sure do have tons of amazing footage/pictures that have to be shared as well I just want to keep it vintage and no Honda Street Racing crap or Dune Biggies out in the desert So if you have something thats not Indy or F-1 and its 10+ years old then post it If its really off target then I will just make fun of you. so dont worry Ok this crash is in my top 10 list of "There is no way in hell either driver survived that!" This one is up there, the video is shocking The first picture is so horrifying that you better be sitting down when you look at it Vid first, pics second Natz Peters and Jim Hurlbert: Daytona 1984 |
