Great post, amazing photo... Couple more images of the aftermath of Irineu Correa's fatal crash on the Circuito da Gávea. He was considered to be the first great Brazilian driver and the first to win a race outside of his native country. · · · |

AMA Grand National Champion Mark Brelsford (1) clips the slower bike of Larry Darr on lap ten of the Daytona 200 1973. This was basically the end of Mark's career who would race only once more, three months after this crash when he fell off of a dirtbike.

Slight alteration to the above, it was the co-driver that perished, José Luis Jiménez and its driver Atilio Viale del Carril that managed to escape with badly burnt legs. Oscar Cabalén did die in a crash in one of these cars but this isn't the incident. Attached is another photo of the previous crash.
