Not sure if this one has been posted before, a close up of Tom Pryce after he had been hit in the face with a fire extingusher during the South African GP 1977. He stood no chance and died instantly along with the young marshal who ran in front of him across the track.

I posted a photo of New Zealand racer and team owner Bruce McLaren's fatal crash in 1970 while testing one of his Can Am sportcars some time ago, but this is a much better image.

A piece of body work flew off of the car at the Goodwood track in the UK and the car left the road crashing heavily into a disused marshall post, inflicting fatal injuries.

Bruce won four F1 races, Le Mans in 1966 and multiple Can Am and Sportcar races.

An unposted photo of the aftermath of Jo Siffert's fatal crash at the end of season, non championship race at Brands Hatch October 24th 1971.

The remains of Jo Siffert's BRM P160 is upside down after hitting a bank stopping just before Hawthorn corner at the back of the circuit. He was being followed by John Surtees at the time, John said, "The rear of the BRM exploded, it careered to the left and burst into flames when it hit the bank."
The flames were so intense that it took a long time to get to Jo. By the time they did he was dead, he had died from inhailing the smoke and fumes. His only physical injury was a broken ankle.

Gordon Reid crashes into the crown at Dayton in 1952, he perished as did three spectators and fifty were injured.
