You don't understand the use of the terms. I guess that is your "bama" education showing.

To put it in simple terms, Alabama takes more from the Feds than it gives. California gives the Feds more than it takes. Mostly the politically Blue states give more than they take. The politically Red states take more than they give. So the liberal states tend to carry the conservative states.

In other words, New York, Massachusetts, and California support states like Alabama. The politically Red states are, overall, much less educated, so, of course, they don't make as much money.

You suggested in sophisticated terms that I should "Look it up." So I did:
