Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
I saw CCTV footage but wasn't able to download it. That car was hauling major ass and did come out of nowhere, and it's roughly a similar color of the concrete. It's shitty to blame the victim here.

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
The man was already over halfway the crosswalk and the car was speeding, driver didn't see him for whatever reason, and he didn't even slow down when approaching a crosswalk and the cops let him go. Saw a vid of a 60 year old woman getting arrested for not wearing a facemask in a shop. Guess they have different views over what's dangerous for citizens and what's not.

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
how exactly can a "loud ass screaming speeding vette" "come out of nowhere"??? no really, how? what should or should not happen to the driver is irrelevant - i was taught to look before crossing the road. it seems that many people were not given this obvious form of privilege when growing up |

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
It seems you were not, however, given the privilege of learning not to shove your own foot in your mouth on a regular basis. Your wannabe-Edgelord ignorance is showing even more than usual here. Aren't you a little long in the tooth for this sort of puerile nonsense? But that's right, you go right on ahead blaming the victim. Who was in the crosswalk. Moving at a brisk pace. And clearly not screwing with his phone or anything else. In an obvious commercial/retail zoned area with significant foot traffic. With the right of way. Yes. He was at fault Of course it is 'irrelevant' that the driver was speeding excessively and had a clear, unobstructed view to the pedestrian who had the right of way. Watch the video, you fucking poltroon. The guy didn't even break. Jesus, I would pay an obscene sum of money for the pleasure of watching you bounce off a fender. |

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
You obviously can't mentally visualize the speed of a pedestrian VS a 300+ horsepower 2 ton chunk of metal and plastic and the amount of time difference in the two closing objects. "Out of nowhere" comes pretty damn quick. Why don't you give it a try?

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
no, you are the one who cannot visualise it - maybe you have no depth perception surely you cannot be so stupid to think that a 300+ horsepower "v8" 2 tonnne chunk of metal and plastic will make the same noise at the speed that car was going, compared to one going a safe speed. it would have been making an absurd amount of noise. maybe you wouldn't, but when i heard it coming, i would second guess myself and wait for the noise to go by and by the way, you have shown your exceptional character by liking a post that says that an argumentative bully would be happy to pay a hitman to run someone down . . . bravo |

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
It's particularly awesome that you're in this thread blaming and heaping insults on a deceased pedestrian victim who was killed in a crosswalk by a car traveling at illegal speeds and in the next breath you're crying about me being a big mean bully. |

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
Driver is pretty much in the shit for this one here. However, the pedestrian would still be alive if he had continued to be observant while crossing. It’s not like he was hit front and centre. I live in a country where pedestrians have right of way practically everywhere. I am only still alive because I keep looking all the way across It’s not rocket science. |

Re: Houston: Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Corvette.
Also gboy, this is in downtown of a major city. I live in this city. It is loud with the freeway a block away and a light rail down the middle of the Avenue. Out in the country you can hear cars, and who's to say he didn't have a hearing problem? I have tinnitus so I most likely would not have heard it. I'm curious as to why you are arguing so hard for the pedestrian to be at fault? Do you drive a Corvette or something?
