Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

On July 25, 2016, a 27 year old man from Phoenix, Arizona passed away in Orange County, California.

Originally posted with the text: "After Heroin"

Then commented afterwards with:

He laid in a community hospital bed in Los Angeles for 35 days, was promised surgery and recovery...he was transfered to a 'meh one step above a community hospital' hospital for surgery (which he never got) and died there less than 20 hours later. He never had any comfort or a feeding tube or proper pain management for 35+ days. So im not sure what hospital 1 was doing other than milking Medi-Cal.

Why we didnt get hospice and why he coded within 6 hours of the transfer to another ill-equipped facility we may never know.

He was misled, mistreated, misdiagnosed and lied to. He died of Cardiac Arrest not a Heroin OD. Orange County Los Angeles you are a joke and a discriminatory mess. Something went terribly wrong.

Ps: if this offends you ... i won't apologize. This is my son.

Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

A 35 year old man from New Albany, Kentucky passed away on October 15, 2015.

Some of you may think this photo is inappropriate, honestly I don't care what you think. Today has been the worst day of my life and that of my family. My family and I had to make the decision to disconnect life support from our precious son. Another young soul taken from this earth too soon thanks to a heroin overdose. Why is it you hear on the news about gun control and how people are shooting each other and yet you hear nothing about overdose victims??? I'll bet if they had it up there are more overdose cases then shootings, so why don't the news covered that? Ticks me off to no end that drug users and sellers have the right to sell this crap that takes the lives of good people. Yet no one comes forward to help the narcotics officers find the source and everything is hush hush. It's time to start talking people before your next ! I will be posting funeral arrangements soon. Just so you know if you plan on showing up anything other than sober you will be escorted out of the funeral home!!!
He died 10/15/2015 just 10 days after his 35th. birthday. He struggled with heroin addiction for years. Went to rehab for 13 months is 2006 then relapsed 9 years later and died. It all started when he was in high school. I had no idea! First it was pot, then came pills mixed with alcohol and when that wasn't enough he went to hard drugs & heroin. He had lost everything he had, his home, car, job, no phone, water, electric. When I finally found him he was sleeping on a bench outside of McDonalds in downtown Louisville, KY. I brought him home with me and tried my best to help him and thought I was getting through to him.He was good at keeping it hid from family. He actually got a job and seemed to be doing better with counseling. Then the one evening we left him alone, he overdosed. No I don't blame myself, but when you loose a child of any age it's difficult to cope. He was such a good kid always thinking of others. He was even an organ donor. I love you, ~Mom~

Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

On June 7, 2016, a 30 year old man from East Alton, Illinois died at the St. Louis University Hospital as a result of a heroin overdose.

We just lost a loved one to HERION June 7th. I posted our journey on my page and showed the ugly truth about HERION what it does to you and your family!

I don't even know where to start. This post will probably be all over the place, as my mind wonders from this to that! So I'll do my best!

This past week has been such a roller coaster ride I NEVER want to ride again! I have also asked God a lot of questions too. One question that always comes back to me is that "Why God did this to our family?" Why didn't you just take him when it happened, instead of putting us through such a senseless act. Yes EVERYONE I know he chose to put that needle in his arm. Some people have basically said that to me. But addiction is a disease. I guess some people will never get that. I bet there is not one person out there that doesn't know someone, anyone that has not been affected by HERION! And if you haven't you just did by reading this post! I knew HERION was bad in the area but until this, you have NO IDEA! It is killing our kids! If something don't happen can you imagine what our grandkids are gonna be facing? They won't stand a chance! So the only thing I can think is that God gave us this trial to go through, cause he knows my family and his sister will not just sit back and hide behind it, as many people do. Yea no one wants to admit, I use HERION or a family member uses HERION. Instead they try to hide it, deny it, and most of all turn your back on it! It's time we STOP people! It looks like "WE THE PEOPLE" need to stand together and get this devil drug off our streets! And it's gonna take people like my family (who don't hide anything) to show the raw ugly truth! And that's just what I have done! Yes the pictures are graphic, but they're not in their room with nice Pj's on with flowers and balloons! They're in there with machines going crazy, tubes everywhere, Drs and nurses coming in constantly, just a crazy mess! While all that it going on you sit and watch a loved one fight with everything they got! And there's nothing you can do but watch this machine, or that machine or these numbers or that alarm going off! You can't sleep cause your looking for anything and everything for a sign they are coming too. You think,he just did this or that, only to be told it's just reflexes! You cry and then you cry some more. This is what "Dancing with the devil”does to you and your family! He was dealt a bad hand from the day he was born. I know he didn't grow up saying I wanna be a druggie! He went down a wrong road and was never able to turn around! You can't pick who your kids fall in love with. And I think he was brought to my daughter for a reason! She tried and tried to keep him clean. But she was an enabler! A full blown one at that! She lied to me numerous times over it. But deep inside I knew! I know my kids! I talked to her til I was blue in the face! Me and her would go days without talking because I called her out on it and she ALWAYS protected him! Just recently she started telling me the truth. Cause every time she made him leave was because she had that feeling he was up to no good. And he was. But she worried about him the whole time. A week or two later he'd be back. And we'd all try again. This time we won't get to try again. He was a great guy, a WONDERFUL father and a great Unky! But when he used he was not himself. My heart hurts so bad for my daughter and grandsons it's unbearable. The pain I seen my daughter In killed me! There's times I didn't think I was gonna be strong enough myself to help her. At one point riding in elevators we'd get off on wrong floors cause we were so out of it we didn't even pay attention that we were getting off the wrong floor. This was a nightmare! Today was so unexpected when we got to the hospital, it was like getting punched hard in the stomach. When that Dr called us on the way over to the hospital, I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was gonna be good news when we got in there. Boy was I mistaken!! When we walked through that door and I seen how they had his bed I knew we were in trouble. Then we looked at all his vitals I knew we were in bigger trouble! Finally the Dr came in and said those words we did not want to hear, and that he was almost certain that he was brain dead! We were speechless! All we could do was hold each other and cry! Then he showed us the CT scan and explained it to us. That was all that needed to be seen. I'm glad she got to see it cause she needed to. It showed her there was no hope. Because she held on to every ounce of hope she could. Again we cry! So they then tell us that if he is brain dead it is no longer in our hands that the hospital will turn the machines off. So we wait for another to get there so they can do these test to be 100% sure that he's brain dead. Then they shuffle us from room to room talking to this person and that person, it was a whirlwind! And an hour or so later they call us all back there again and give us the ugly results. Yes, he is brain dead! We all said our good byes, kissed him and loved him til we had to leave! I'm glad my grandson decided not to see his daddy that way. He said he was to scared too. We told him that was fine and that daddy loved him with all his heart. He seemed ok with that but he wanted his mom.

He passed at 5:25 pm 6/7/2016

RIP….fly high you are no longer suffering from the DEVIL! You are now soaring in the wind with your beautiful wings! Until we meet again!

Here are some pictures of him once he got to SLU. Again I KNOW they are graphic to some people but I'm SHOWING you the ugly truth of what HERION does to you and your families! If you don't like it scroll on but if you have a heart share it! WE HAVE TO STOP HERION!!! BOTTOM LINE!

Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

A 21 year old man from Ashtabula, Ohio passed away on March 13, 2016.

Today is heroin overdose awareness day and you have no idea how hard this is for me to post.

This is my beautiful 21 year old son. On Feb. 1, 2016 I got the call no parent should get. My boy was in a coma and they did not think he was going to make it through the night and I was 6 hours away. We rushed to be with him. He did make that night and even opened his eyes and we all thought he was going to make it. A month went by and his health got worse and brain function slowed. He could not regulate his temperature. He was suffering. I remember standing there starting and my son shaking as I had to sign the papers for dnr and then to take him off life support. He held on for 2 more weeks and he passed away at 11:30pm on 3-13-2016. He was my son. He was a father, soon to be husband, brother, grandson, uncle and best friend to so many people around the country. He was larger than life. His passing has changed everyone he touched. I will never be the same. I love my son and just want him back. <3

I hate Heroin!!!!!!

Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

A 31 year old man from Cleveland, Ohio died as a result of a heroin overdose.

April 1, 2016

My brother has been battling heroin addiction for a few years now, he was in rehab for 6 months, 3 days before he was released my mom passed away. I just knew he was going relapse I could feel it. Yesterday he was found in a restaurant bathroom with a needle in his arm. They tried to revive him with narcan but he was still unresponsive. He is on life support now with little brain activity. I'm asking for everyone to please pray for my brother and what's left of my family. And if you're on heroin please think about the people who love you who have to see you like this! It doesn't just effect the addict it destroys everyone involved. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers

April 5, 2016

Not looking forward to tomorrow. I have to work, then my son has his first karate class, then I have to get the rest of my mom stuff out of storage. I don't want to go back to real life. I just want to spend all of my time at the hospital waiting for my brother to wake up

April 8, 2016

We have until Sunday to decide if we're going to keep him on life support. Doctors don't think his brain is ever going to recover. If we do, do a permanent oxygen support and a feeding tube he will have to lay in a nursing home like that for the rest of his life with very slim chance of having brain function again. The doctors told us yesterday we have a week to think about it and then he calls me this morning pestering me about it, wanting us to come in and have a meeting with all of the doctors today. I told him I can't do it today or tomorrow so we're going Sunday. Let's just say my sibling and I have two different opinions. I just want to lay in my bed and never get up.

April 8, 2016

I hate that I had to change my profile picture but every time I go on Facebook and see his face my heart sinks. Now I know what my mom meant when she said she would go on Facebook and see I posted a picture of my dad or something and it felt like she was hit with a ton of bricks. I always liked to see pictures and share pictures of my dad, and now my mom but when I see a picture of my brother I feel like my heart is being ripped out of my chest

April 10, 2016

After over an hour talking with the doctors we still don't have any more answers than we did yesterday, they just don't know anything. We do know that he's not doing simple little things that he should be doing by now. We do know he's NOT anoxic. So that means he could pull through at any time, OR he could be stuck in the state he's in now forever. What I do know is he wanted to be a UFC fighter... Key word FIGHTER! so we're doing a tracheotomy and a peg tube and just hope for the best!
He passed away unexpectedly August 27, 2016.

A 37 year old man formerly of Lakeville, Massachusetts passed away on January 10, 2017 as a result of a heroin overdose laced with fentanyl.

My only child was on life support from an overdose of laced Heroin. 5 days later we buried him. Next week he would've been celebrating his 38th birthday.

Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

A 30 year old man from Kettering, Ohio passed away on February 10, 2017 as a result of a heroin overdose.

My sister-in-law lost her brother last week, below are her words.............................

Everywhere we go in life we will face temptation with good and bad choices. These choices we all make, not only effect our selves but also everyone around us. Even when we feel alone we don't realize how many people are actually right behind us. When we get this sort of haze in front of our reality we tend to get distracted of what is really important, give up on the goals we set and don't care about the choices we make and evil tends to triumph over good. On February 10th of 2017 the good lord gained an amazing man on an overdose of heroine. This man was a son of two loving parents, he was a father to a beautiful daughter and three handsome boys, he was the big brother to his little sister and a great friend to all. For those of you that are out there in this harsh world dealing with drugs and alcohol, don't think it cant or won't happen to you because it can. One day when you finally get an eye opener, it will or could be to late. I'm taking this horrible tragedy in mine and my family's life and want to help change and make a positive impact on those who are struggling just as he was. So please if you ever get to a point in life where you want to turn to drugs or alcohol to haze reality.. reach out to some, because I can promise everyone, your not alone.. I will say one positive thing came from this, my brother became a hero at the end. He donated his kidneys and his liver which ended up saving 3 people's lives!! So if everyone would please say a small prayer for our family and close friends and for everyone out there in a low place. Please share this story and maybe let this effect someone in a positive way, thank you! R.I.P bubba we love you!

Re: Heroin Overdose & Opioid Related Deaths from the United States [Big Collection]

On January 2, 2016, a 24 year old man from Cincinnati, Ohio passed away as a result of a heroin overdose.

His father, a religious instructor, wrote a letter to his 8th grade students which was published in the local newspaper op-ed:

Dear 8th Grade Students,

On Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at 1:37 a.m., my 24-year-old son passed away from a heroin overdose that occurred 48 hours earlier. As a result of the overdose, he stopped breathing for some time. Although the life squad was able to restart his heart, his brain had been without oxygen for too long. Machines kept him alive for two days, but when it was clear he had no brain activity, we made the decision to remove all life support.

He passed away quietly while I held his hand with his family all around him. He died with dignity surrounded by love.

This is very difficult for eighth-graders to hear. Why would I burden you with this information? The answer is because when he was in eighth grade, he was perfect and beautiful and innocent just like all of you. In high school he discovered drugs, and eventually he found heroin. Heroin wrapped itself around his neck like a python until it eventually strangled the life out of him. It is the devil incarnate – pure evil.

If there is one chance in a million that I can save one of your lives, and spare your families the unbearable pain of burying their child, then it is worth it for you to hear my son’s tragic story. When you are confronted with the first opportunity to take drugs – and it will happen – remember my son. Consider your parents. Picture them trying to comprehend how they lost their perfect and beautiful and innocent child to the demon heroin.

May God bless you all.
