Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
Google Translation: A girl in the Henan region of China! It is understood that the girl has suffered from depression all year round! I was just discharged from the mental hospital a few days ago! I don’t know why! I rode my bike and ran into the woods... Depression really needs someone’s care and company! Friends, if you have friends who suffer from depression, please spend more time with them! # Female Corpse # Heavy Mouth |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
This gets asked a lot. There's a couple reasons why. 1. Being fully suspended is not needed to be fatal. It is faster in most cases, but even a few pounds of pressure on a ligature will compress the arteries of the neck enough to cause a loss of muscular coordination, followed by loss of consciousness. This is what kills people in autoerotic asphyxia- thinking that they will be able to take a conscious action to free themselves, but unable to do so because they can't control their arms. 2. Gravity pulls everything down, and most ligatures used in suicidal hangings will stretch considerably over time. A textile noose that was short enough to fully suspend someone can easily stretch enough to put their feet on the ground in a few hours. If a slipknot of some kind is used, the knot will continue to tighten as much as it can, and that effectively lengthens the fixed side of the ligature. And the body itself will stretch more than you might think once the normal compression forces are replaced by tension while hanging- sometimes by a few inches. 3. Many times the original anchor point of a ligature fails, causing the body to come to rest in an unexpected position. A branch or ceiling fixture may hold long enough for the hanging to be fatal, but eventually breaks or bends, leaving the body much lower than it's original position. |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
19 year old girl in Honduras hanged herself after some sort of family dispute. According to the police report, she used an electrical cord and her feet were touching the floor in a partial suspension hanging. I managed to track down her social media, but she really didn't like showing her face. |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
19-year-old was found to have hanged herself in Venezuela. Cut-downs only. Thanks to Vedderman for finding out this was, indeed, a hanging (as foam is usually associated with death by poison). |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
22-year-old woman (or 21, or 24) hanged herself in Hamirpur, India. Apparently, she killed herself because her husband (who was also her cousin) refused to try to end his addiction to gutka (a type of chewing tobacco).
