No real infos given. Some "suspicious" circumstances were mentioned, but for me it looks like a typical suicide scene.

25 year old woman was found hanging in a tree early in the morning. It was originally feared that she may have been murdered, but investigation revealed that she had had a fight with her boyfriend the night before (he was alibi'd up) at a party and she took off by herself late at night. Was found as pictured a few hours later.

The forensic report indicated that there were no exterior signs of violence and her hyoid bone was not fractured.

Her handbag was upside down beneath her, but all of her money and ID and such were still inside, lending further validity to a suicidal verdict. There was no note left and witnesses reported that she had been drinking when she left the party in an emotional state.

Rather extensive set here, for which I happened to have some very good timing in terms of being in the right chatroom at the right time.

This teenage girl hanged herself and a regular in a local (to the area) forum happened to be at the scene when she did and took a video. I was able to ask some questions of him and of one of the EMTs at the time.

Unfortunately, neither of them had much in terms of background detail and more will probably be released once the story breaks area news in a few hours. Indonesia typically releases extensive forensics records for suicide cases, but the paperwork isn't done on this one yet.

She used some sort of plastic tape in order to hang herself in her living room. The cameraman said that people in the room were saying it was due to a breakup. The family cut her down to try to revive her while waiting for the rescue workers, but she was already dead. The wire suspended horizontally behind her corpse was not involved in the hanging, it's just where the yellow noose got hung up after they cut her loose.

The EMT (I spoke to the male one, not the female one in the video) relayed a very cursory visual examination and mentioned that the family had already refused an autopsy. He indicated that all of the usual signs for hanging were present and that he guessed she'd been dead less than two hours, though he wasn't officially qualified to opine. It is assumed she used the nearby stack of blue chairs to stand on. Her eyes were open with pupils dilated, her tongue was protruding slightly past her teeth but had not gotten swollen yet, likely due to the short time span. The ligature mark on her throat matched the width of the plastic yellow 'noose' that she used and she had evacuated her bowels and bladder in her underpants.

The camera guy (cell phone cam anyway) from my group didn't add much detail because he was afraid to try to push through the crowd. He said that there were a lot of people crammed in to watch and that it was very loud and hard to make out details, between people yammering and the family crying very loudly. He didn't stay but for a few minutes before leaving and he mentioned that the room had a strong odor because the girl had shit herself when she died. I rather doubt that last factoid will make the papers, even in Indonesia. This was the first suicide scene he had witnessed in person, btw.

I'll add any relevant details as they arrive when the hanging makes formal news releases. For now, here's a shitload of photos and a couple of vids.

The family has allegedly requested an autopsy because they are concerned about whether or not it was actually a suicide. They say that the girl had had two male friends at the house earlier and are worried that foul play may have been involved. Still looks like a suicide to me, but I'll keep talking to the guy at the scene and reading the news reports for updates.

Another from the previous case. Her funeral was this morning, apparently. So I am guessing that the family decided against a full autopsy. I've seen a few local bloggers spewing nonsense about the case, including one who claimed it was already proven as a homicide. But highly unlikely they'd be burying the body the next morning if that were the case. My guess is that the investigator's cursory exam was satisfactory to the family so they buried her instead. The official statement from the attending physician who did the visual exam was that her body showed no signs of violence and, as mentioned in my previous post, displayed numerous physical signs commonly associated with a hanging suicide. Further, police turned up a notebook where she had written that she was despondent and wanted to die because her boyfriend had been dating a friend of hers behind her back.

I'll keep an eye on it in case it develops. Indonesian cases are weird to follow sometimes.

Also I like how it appears that they just covered the ligature mark with a fucking McDonald's napkin for her funeral.

What are you talking about? She's already been cut down in all the photos. The positions you see her in for these photos are all after she had been moved by the family. I included photos of the original noose position up on the ceiling beam. She's just laying how she fell when they cut the yellow plastic packing tape she hanged herself with.

She was so young, poor girl. I think I'll have to watch the videos with the sound on when I'm alone as seeing (I assume) relatives distraught was enough to make me feel like utter shit. I'd rather not cry like a baby in front of everyone, haha!

Whether it was suicide or murder, a very young life has been lost + her poor family are going to have to live with it.
