Young woman hanged herself due to harassment and dowry disputes. Many times in south Asia, these types of suicides are actually strangulation murders staged as hangings.

That is what the girl's family is alleging here. And while I acknowledge that it isn't exactly rare to stage murders as hangings in that region, to my eye this appears to be an actual suicide.

The way the fingers curl back is very common in hangings, as is this particular type of protrusion of the tongue. Both of those CAN occur during strangulation too, just more common in this type of hanging.

Most telling, to me anyway, is to look at her feet around the 0:20 mark in the video. The mattress clearly shows two distinct wet stains under each foot. One of the clearest indications of perimortem urination I've ever even seen in a hanging video, to be honest. If her husband strangled her elsewhere and then strung her corpse up to look like a hanging suicide, that urine would be somewhere else. But given its location, she very obviously emptied her bladder in death and the urine ran down both legs and soaked the mattress at her feet.

I cannot be the only one here who sees this. Sometimes I wonder if these people even bother to examine the scene.

Look carefully you can see a small pond of liquid under her feet that maybe she released her bladder...

I don't see that, myself. but it's common enough in hangings that I wouldn't be surprised.
