Close-ups usually show blood dripping from the nose, not mouth. Arteries are seldom closed tightly in partial hanging, so there's some blood pooling, and it breaking small blood vessels.

Looks like it's pretty rare when the victim seriously bites the protruded tongue.

The video is on YouTube: "BBC's World at War - The Final Solution Part 1" uploaded by "bottacka". I've posted the hanging below.

The mass hanging starts at 1:15:10 with the prisoners being marched to the gallows. The camera's viewpoint is on the other side of the gallows from the camera in "II World War Polska". The gallows has ten typically thin Nazi nooses on it and steps in the center.

We see the prisoners being noosed. One prisoner falls and is pulled back to his feet by the hangman, then we see the woman in "Polska_Fragment.jpg", already noosed as the last man is noosed next to her. Then the video cuts to the crowd, then cuts back to the gallows with all ten prisoners standing on it, noosed and ready to hang. You can see the woman in "Polska_Fragment2.jpg" on the right. The hangman runs up to the ladder and the video cuts to a boy in the audience. The final shot is a still from 1:01:48 of the same film, showing all ten hanging.

There are a bunch of hanging stills around 1:01, but they're familiar ones.

The World at War series has been remastered for Blu-Ray and the video has been enhanced. Amazon has it for $64.99. No idea if the video is clearer.

The original film of that hanging must be in a vault somewhere and I'm sure it doesn't cut away when the gallows is sprung. Talk about your Holy Grail!
