While I realize that reposts are going to happen sometimes and that too many photos is better than not enough, I am starting to find it a bit frustrating that so many new and fresh photos are getting lost in the recent spate of reposts. I certainly don't want to discourage people searching and adding things, but I do want to offer a piece of advice. Unless the date on the article accompanying your photo is within a week or two of you posting it, please consider running the photo through a Google Image search before posting it here. 9 times out of 10, Google Images will turn up a link to the exact photo in this very thread. You can then avoid reposting and weighing down an already very lengthy and cluttered thread with more reposts. That will keep fresh images fresher, as it were, and avoid the thread bloating horribly under the weight of photos that (in the case of a recent posting here) have already been put up twice in this particular thread. Again, I don't want to discourage contributions and reposts are bound to happen from time to time. But doing just a little bit of extra homework before posting your image will very often save you the trouble of reposting old stuff. |
