From the damage, it looks like he went straight into the ground. He must have been trying for a steep, high-bank turn, and lost it. You actually don't hear of many accidents with these. If the engine quits, you are already in a parachute, so you just land. They are not high-performance machines, you just kind of mush around through the air. They are pretty safe if not mishandled. Takeoff and land at about 15 mph. Fly about 40-50 mph. |
