That has yet to be disclosed by the police, but he is scheduled for psychiatric evaluation. The case is in Norway. It happened on the 23rd of December. As far as I can tell, it's being treated with some care.

Incidentally, the allegedly abusive stepfather, age 55, is from Morocco, while the mother and son are from Finland. That was recently disclosed in the media.

Not sure how to translate the rest properly. Some of the terms and practices are kind of specific. Like not yet having entered a preliminary plea as to guilt; in our context, that may imply non compos mentis and tends to mean that he's in no condition to decide for himself whether or not to assume culpability in court at this time. The trial won't be for a long time, yet.

Ha. In common law, non compos mentis was a specific defense that didn't survive the medieval period: not guilty by reason of demonic possession.

You may come across the term today as a general, neutral term for any type of insanity plea, but it does not have legal criteria.

It’s accurate. Global warming and all that. We get random weather now. In that area, I’d imagine it could be snow one day, summer the next and a solid hailstorm the third. Nine of the last ten years have been the hottest on record, if memory serves.

I question your intelligence. Norway isn't a frozen wasteland, it's actually pretty diverse (like most countries) atmospherically speaking. Not to mention like most countries, it's most populous cities are in the south.
