Re: Gunman at Teotihuacán Pyramids Kills One Canadian Tourist, Injures Six
incas weren't in Mexico but more in Peru, Bolivia, Chile etc. plus 1,000 years later or so. Teotihuacan was the New york of that time and they produced weapons and ritual objects made of volcanic glass and they produced mercury from cinnabar mines few 100 km away plus they imported Jade from South American tribes plus Mica from South Mexico which they used for isolation or grinded to powder to mix it into stucco and paint for murals. This makes temples glitter and shine like gold/silver in sunlight. Also Mica used for mirrors, masks and jewelry. This attracted many other civilisations to that place and some settled there so probably all the imported knowledge was used to create new building techniques/temples with great precision. City wasn't build by the Mayas exclusively nor the Aztecs who found it abandoned hundreds of years later. Probably build by mixed civilisations. |
