Re: Ground by Worm Shaft
Speaking of nightmare death scenarios, I had a boss that worked at a packaging facility in Pittsburgh who, not more than an hour after I last saw him, got himself smashed in an industrial conveyor belt engine. According to the video, he was investigating something in the engine while it was running (a fucking gargantuan no-no), and it grabbed his shirt and pulled him in. What makes the incident even more preposterous is he was the man in charge of safety at the facility. I quit that job not long after.

Hope they clean that machine out before they start grinding sugarcane again. Don't want any body parts floatin' around in my morning coffee |

Re: Ground by Worm Shaft
If there was a video of this, I don't think it would be one I could even start to watch. Poor man. When my Mom was a nurse, she took care of a boy who's head got caught in a grain auger on a farm. It works much the same as this machine. She said he was SO hard to care for, trying to prevent infection, keep his pain under control, etc. This was about 55 years ago, so it's a miracle he even lived. I imagine he's gone now though. |
