Girl's Day Totally Fucking Ruined

A young woman, her husband, and her mother had recently had some measure of success with their commercial-level-but-family-run chicken farm. In order to capitalize on their recent good turns, they managed to secure a rather sizable loan from the local bank in order to build several more buildings and expand their poultry stock fairly substantially.

Unfortunately for them, their progress was being monitored and their happy day turned bleak very quickly when two gunmen approached on a motorcycle just as they were leaving with the loan money. The robbers demanded the money from the mother, who withheld it knowing that the family would be ruined if the loan money was taken and they could not repay.

So they shot her once in the chest and then popped the son-in-law in the head for good measure. Then they took the bag of money and rode off.

Mom was dead on the spot from the single GSW to the chest and the hubby died en route to the hospital. The extremely unfortunate young woman was made an orphan and a widow on the same day...and is likely on the hook for the loan amount as well. Unless they can apprehend the robbers, that is. But I wouldn't hold out too much hope there.

True story. I live near a fairly large estate. The owner of the place is loaded. He has a few guys that take care of the property. Probably around 60 acres. One of the guys was from Guatemala. He was here legally. He also got his nephew a job there. The kid was 22.
Two years ago the nephew went back to Guatemala. He missed his parents. Got a job in a tire shop. Got his own apartment.
The uncle told me that gang members knew he had made money working here and also knew he had a job. They broke into his place in the middle of the night to rob him. Kid put up a fight and they shot him to death. WTF ?
The uncle was sending money to his wife. The wife was robbed twice coming out of the bank. He had to move back down to protect his family. Pretty sad way to live.
