Girl Found Dead in Bed in Mysterious Circumstances
This teen had an argument with her parents and took off on Sunday night to hang out at an apartment she occasionally shared with two of her friends. They're all in high school, but seniors, so I guess it is somewhat permissible to have your own crash/party pad at that age down there. I moved out at 16 and knew several others that did, as well. So it isn't that weird to me that she had a crash pad to blow off steam. Anyway, Monday morning she was found by her friends lying dead with her feet hanging off of her bed. She was fully dressed, had not been sexually molested, but was dead and had blood on her face. Her friends all testified that she had been drinking a large amount of beer the previous evening. Her parents swear that she was beaten in the face and strangled to death and are 'demanding' justice and an in-depth investigation. The coroner wrote the COD as asphyxiation due to bronchoaspiration and indicated that he believed she drank too much beer, passed out, and choked to death when she vomited and the stomach contents entered her lungs and nose due to the position she was lying in at the time. He indicated that the bleeding was likely caused by tissue and vessel damage from that process, but admitted that such a thing could occur in a beating or strangling death too, though it was improbable. She had minor abrasions on her face, but nothing serious and nothing bad enough to cause such bleeding in the coroner's estimation. The close-up facial photo below was provided by the coroner to demonstrate her lack of apparent injury once she was washed for the autopsy. Her friends also indicated that they heard no fighting or screaming from her room, but that everyone was drinking and distracted, so it was possible that there was an unseen intruder. Police have listed the official cause asphyxiation from bronchoaspiration due to excessive alcohol consumption, but the family continues to 'demand' justice, swearing that she was murdered. My money's on too much beer and accidental death, but you can draw your own conclusions. In Mexico, one really never knows. |

Re: Girl Found Dead in Bed in Mysterious Circumstances
The contents of the red bag beside her on the bed may conclude this death to be a rare Doritocide! The easily removable reddish face coloring, and with the excretion of "little bits of gold" or Dorito, in the genital area this matter should be Frito Layed over for a more thorough investigation! |

So hard for her family to take in no wonder they suspect foul play. She looks to have just passed out on her bed, so off her face, and tragically choked to death as said. |

Re: Girl Found Dead in Bed in Mysterious Circumstances
I'm curious if there is a...non-sad...way for someone her age to die. Saving a basket of kittens from a burning building? Lying on a bed of money, surrounded by hookers and blow? Sorry, I know you're just trying to be sympathetic or whatever. But your phrasing caused me to wonder just what sort of death would constitute a 'happy' death for a teenage girl. |

Re: Girl Found Dead in Bed in Mysterious Circumstances
I went to sleep the exact same way countless times when I was 17. Guess the difference was that my friends were the sort of people who went in and checked on fallen comrades every 30 minutes or so to ensure health and safety. I recall one particularly rough night after a fifth of Old Crow where I had crawled out of the window and shimmied up a drainpipe (this in spite of being basically unconscious) and was sleeping on the goddam roof in my boxers and a cowboy hat. The mates were puzzled beyond belief when they popped in to check on me, but managed to wrestle me down before I fell to my doom. Point is, if her friends had given half a shit about checking up on her, she'd probably be alive. Bronchoaspiration from drinking isn't particularly quick nor is it especially quiet. She was likely coughing and gagging and choking for several minutes before dying. Silly kids doing silly shit. Sometimes even one in the bunch exercising a modicum of responsibility is enough to make a difference. |

Re: Girl Found Dead in Bed in Mysterious Circumstances
Looks like she was trying to take her jeans off, fell backwards on the bed and passed out, then choked when she vomited. Chances are her friends were equally drunk so weren't capable of keeping an eye on her. Teens and alcohol is usually a bad thing all round. They have no idea of their limits and drink to get drunk.
