I agree with your "freedom" for recreational drug use but ONLY if the user can bear the entire cost if anything goes wrong such as treatment for overdose. The general public should not have to bear the cost of recreational user drug overdose or other complications. JMHO.

for distribution of any drug including marijuana the minimum sentence in Russia is 8 years in prison but for such huge amount it should be around 20
And of course such strict laws doesnt stop 9 million of russians to use drugs on regular basis
