The man, who died, was a member of the criminal gang called "First Command of the Capital", which originated from São Paulo and has several branches in many states in Brazil. He was chased by the cops, when he lost control of his vehicle, veered across the median and collided with a truck   ·  ·  · |

As much as I can see on the pics, the truck most likely T-boned the car. The crook, not wearing his seat belt, started to fly out of the car while the truck hit him, that would explain this.
