In Villaflores, Chiapas state, Mexico, a shootout occurred when members of the National Guard were attacked by armed sicarios, firing from a red pickup truck.

The National Guardsmen took cover in their vehicle and responded to the armed attack. At the end of the confrontation, it was reported that four sicarios were killed.

The body of one of the attackers was found in the driver's seat of the red pickup truck, his head having effectively been destroyed, while the other three lay on the ground next to the vehicle.

Upon inspecting the area, authorities found that at least one of the attackers was wearing a cap with the initials 'CCyG', attributed to the Chiapas and Guatemala Cartel, identified as a cell related to the CJNG.

Two National Guardsmen were injured in the confrontation. Their condition is reported as stable.
